Seniors Health & Fitness

Exercise and physical activity is healthy for people of all ages, with the latest research indicating that even moderate amounts of exercise and physical activity can improve the health of our seniors, including those who may be frail or enduring a disease(s) often associated with ageing.

The size and strength of our muscles and the density and mass of our bones do diminish with age, but the major contributor to these physiological changes, is the fact that we typically become less active as we grow older.  George Bernard Shaw once said “We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing”.  With exercise and physical activity, these physiological changes can be minimised and in some cases reversed.

Feel Happy Fitness seniors programs are structured to promote strength, endurance, posture, flexibility and balance in order to enhance your health and enjoyment of life and to sustain your ability to perform everyday tasks.  Our seniors programs can be individually tailored and delivered one on one through personal training or provided to several people through group fitness.

Some seniors are reluctant to exercise because they fear that exercise is too strenuous or that physical activity will harm them.  The reality is however, that more harm is done by not exercising and remaining physically inactive.  The good news is that even if you have been inactive for sometime, it is never too late to commence an exercise program and take the first steps towards a fitter, healthier and happier you.
